The second feature-length film of Sara Fattahi is a poetic reflection on exile, art and pain, that elliptically closes in on the stories of three women whose life was changed dramatically through the civil war in Syria. A mother isolates herself after her son’s murder in her apartment in Damascus. Another woman flees to Sweden, where she processes her traumas and fears through collages. The third woman is the filmmaker herself, grappling with finding a place for herself in a foreign country and commencing an impossible dialogue with Ingeborg Bachmann on war and peace.
