Amel (Afef Ben Mahmoud) works in a factory in Tunis. She lives with her alcoholic husband and their only son Moumen (Iheb Bouyahia), a talented teenage football goalkeeper. In order to secure the future of her son in the football field, Amel gets in touch with a businessman who takes advantage of the situation and abuses her. She is accused of adultery and prostitution, and ends up in prison. Moumen, abandoned to his fate, sinks into the city’s underworld. Released after months, Amel searches for her son and must face a Tunisian society in free fall. “Streams” celebrated its world premiere at the 2021 Locarno International Film Festival.
