Tales Of The Wounded Land offers unique access, different from media narratives, as Iraqi-French filmmaker Abbas Fahdel \u2014 most known for Homeland: Iraq Year Zero (2015) \u2014 has been based in Lebanon\u2019s South since 2017.<\/p>\n<p>He sets out to bear witness to the scale of loss and destruction, but also to signs of life emerging through the rubble.<\/p>\n<p>The result is a stubborn film in its comprehensive approach to cataloguing every aspect of daily life, an ode to the Southerners\u2019 resistance. Tales Of The Wounded Land screened at Locarno Film Festival in 2025 where Fahdel won the festival prize for best direction.
