When an elderly, ailing father (Kamel El Basha) meets his son (Ahmed Malek) on the eve of Eid, we find ourselves drawn into their toxic and turbulent relationship. Enshrouded in unsettling secrets, it is a bond marked by a complex tapestry of violence and love that edges toward (self-)hate. Alexandria, in director Mohamed Siam’s first feature film, unfolds as a cold and dark world, a fragment of a half-remembered dream in which we follow the journey of a father and son oscillating between revenge and reconciliation.

The film won the Best Actor award for its leading actor and promising talent, Ahmed Malek, at El Gouna Film Festival and was also screened at the Red Sea Film Festival 2026. (HF)
