Simsim

Simsim, a young Jordanian mother, tries to break free from a marriage she didn’t choose. However, in order to get a divorce, she finds herself having to match her husband Qasem with a new wife. Simsim’s dreams of a new life in Europe motivate her to go on her own journey; online dating to find a new husband who is living abroad.

With Saja Kilani and Majd Eid in the leading roles, Simsim is a comedy that delivers not only laughs but also sharp social criticism, insisting on a reality in which there are neither heroes nor villains.

This debut film premiered at the Amman International Film Festival 2025, where it won awards for best leading actress and best screenplay. (HF)
